After almost three years, Callum, Ezran,and Rayla are coming back! Netflix has been quiet on the production of the fourth season of The Dragon Prince, but now that we’re inching closer to the official release, the streaming service and production team have been releasing clips, posters, and trailers for audiences to get excited about. The latest trailer can be viewed below!
The teaser starts out with a recap of the events leading up to the season three finale, with Rayla’s voice saying “seeing you now, I almost can’t believe it’s been over two years!” We see the young dragon’s hatching, the rise to the battle, and the big showdown. We then see brief clips of the upcoming series. Prince Callum and King Ezran have grown up a bit, their aunt Amaya is facing her own enemies, and the mysterious elf Aaravos is gearing up for his grand appearance in the world! The trailer cuts to black, revealing a November release for the upcoming season.

This hasn’t been the only sneak peek at the upcoming season. Along with two other clips that were revealed this past July at San Diego Comic-Con, the team also gave us a look at fan favorite Amaya. Amaya is the deaf aunt to Callum and Ezran, who has had her own arc throughout the past three seasons, ending with finding a possible new elf girlfriend. The new clip shows her with a brand-new look and facing off against three fire-whip-wielding elves!
Netflix also shared a brand new poster for the upcoming season, featuring an intimidating Aaravos acting as a puppetmaster to Claudia, Viren, and Callum. Claudia and Viren seem to be holding up, but Callum is turned away and looking off in the distance; perhaps he’s missing someone… wait, in the teaser above, wasn’t there a shot of him holding one of Rayla’s swords? Oh no! Also, in August, the team released another poster showing the aged-up Ezran and Zym facing an intimidating rock-like dragon! Both posters can be viewed below.
What’s In Store?
The Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos
The Dragon Prince’s fourth season is set to be titled The Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos. The more that they’re giving us, the more there is for fans to ponder on! From what we’re seeing so far, it looks like we’re going to get separate stories told simultaneously, which isn’t something quite new for the show. Viren and Claudia are likely going to be dealing with Aaravos as he nears his entrance into the world, Ezran and Zym are likely going to be tackling the various issues of the newfound peace between humans, elves, and dragons, and finally, Callum is going to confronting some inner demons involving Rayla.
The absence of everyone’s favorite Moonshadow elf is already the subject of much worry among fans on social media, but for now, it’s a little early to guess exactly what’s going to happen. She could be in trouble, or she very well could be off on another mission! Whether you’re scared or just eager, I think we can all agree that November can’t come soon enough!
