Executive producers Naren Shankar and Ty Franck were on hand for the panel at Comic-Con. They were joined by cast members Steven Strait, Wes Chatham, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper and Frankie Adams. The teaser is very much that, just a tease of what’s to come. That said, it’s an explosive, action-packed one. Not a whole lot of context is provided for what is being displayed, but there is an awful lot of intriguing imagery, from lots of possibly dead people floating around in space to crazy advanced weaponry being deployed. Tensions are high and, overall, it looks like a wild ride.

Moving onto the clip, it’s a full 5-minutes, so we get to settle in a bit more. We get a glimpse of the crew aboard the ship as they make their way toward Ilus. Once settled in on the planet, they’re left to explore and we get a sense of the lush, gorgeous landscape it has to offer. The clip gives a better sense of scope, in addition to the look and feel of the series. It’s all very grand and, for a show that started life on SyFy, it looks rather incredible.
The Expanse season 4 is a new beginning. With the Ring Gates now open to thousands of new planets, the situation quickly devolves into a bloody gold rush, igniting new conflicts between Earth, Mars, and the Belt. All the while, on one unexplored planet, the Rocinante crew finds themselves in the midst of a violent clash between a mining corporation from Earth and desperate Belter settlers as deadly new threats from the protomolecule make themselves known.
