The series will reportedly act as a sequel to Ritchie’s 2019 movie.
As per a report by Variety, the rest of the new additions includes the likes of Kaya Scodelario (Crawl, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), Daniel Ings (I Hate Suzie), Joely Richardson (Lady Chatterley’s Lover), and Peter Serafinowicz (The Tick). The Gentlemen series will also see Vinnie Jones reunite with Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch director Guy Ritchie after more than 20 years.

“The world of ‘The Gentlemen’ is a little bit of me,” Guy Ritchie said in a statement. “I’m thrilled that with Netflix, Miramax and Moonage, we have this opportunity to inhabit it once again. We’re looking forward to bringing fans back into that world, introducing new characters and their stories and I am excited to be doing it with this extremely talented cast.”
Ritchie has co-written the pilot script for the series alongside Matthew Read, with the British filmmaker set to helm two episodes of the show for Netflix. Ritchie will also be on board as an executive producer along with Miramax TV and Moonage Pictures.
Released in 2019, The Gentlemen stars an ensemble cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant, and follows McConaughey as an American cannabis wholesaler in England who is looking to sell his business. Of course, this being a crime caper helmed by Guy Ritchie, this decision sets off all manner of blackmailing and scheming bringing each character together in a rich tapestry of action-packed and often hilarious mayhem.
The Gentlemen Series Will be Led by Theo James

The upcoming The Gentlemen series will tell a separate story from the movie, though there will be a few links here and there. Led by Divergent star Theo James, The Gentlemen will center on his character, named Eddie Halstead, “who has inherited his father’s sizeable estate only to discover that it’s sitting on top of a weed empire owned by the legendary Mickey Pearson. Has this straight-up soldier got what it takes to master the dark arts of the British criminal underworld and take control of the entire operation?”
The Gentlemen does not yet have a release date, but production on the Netflix series is all set to begin next week.
