The Hunger Games begins its epic conclusion with the first installment of the finale: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. The film begins with Katniss Everdeen, Jennifer Lawrence, waking up in the subterranean District 13. The fabled district had not been destroyed by The Capitol and has been operating in secret for decades. Amassing weaponry and soldiers for the inevitable final conflict. Plutarch Heavensbee, Philip Seymour Hoffman, convinces the leader of District 13, President Coin - Julianne Moore, that Katniss must become the symbol of the revolution - The Mockingjay, to galvanize the remaining districts against The Capitol. As Katniss struggles to become a figurehead, she’s horrified when a brainwashed Peeta - Josh Hutcherson, who was captured, is trotted out by the evil President Snow, Donald Sutherland, to denounce her rebellion.

The press interviews in New York for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 was quite an event. A small army of security guards kept hundreds of fans at bay while reporters shuttled in and out of their hotel. The cast seemed still blown away by the blockbuster success of the films, but were ready to move on and get away from the constant publicity.
