A new clip has been released for the second season of The Legend of Vox Machina. Set to arrive on Prime Video on Jan. 20, the new season will include 12 more episodes for fans to enjoy following a highly acclaimed freshman season. In the clip, Vox Machina run into trouble when Keyleth creates a new portal that happens to be at the edge of a cliff, and it’s up to Scanlan to save the day in an… interesting way. The official logline for season 2 reads, “After saving the realm from evil and destruction at the hands of the most terrifying power couple in Exandria, Vox Machina is faced with saving the world once again—this time, from a sinister group of dragons known as the Chroma Conclave.”
The Critical Role cast also serves as executive producers alongside Brandon Auman (Star Wars: Resistance), Chris Prynoski (Metalocalypse), Shannon Prynoski (Fairfax), and Ben Kalina (Big Mouth).
The Legend of Vox Machina Has a Perfect Score at Rotten Tomatoes
The first season of The Legend of Vox Machina premiered on Prime Video in January 2022. It had already scored an early renewal for season 2 ahead of its premiere, and again, the show was renewed for season 3 months ago. High viewership and widespread acclaim have ensured that Prime Video will be keeping this series around for some time to come. Over at Rotten Tomatoes, the show has a rare perfect score of 100% fresh while the audience score is also very high at 93%. Those involved with the show are hopeful to do the same with season 2.
“There’s a lot of story there,” Laura Bailey says of season 2, via Inverse. “It’s having to pick and choose moments that meant the most to us, and made the most sense to include in the animated series. At the same time, we get to expand upon other moments that didn’t get seen within the campaign, because they were only seen from the perspective of the players. Now we get to see the perspective of the villains.”
Season 2 will premiere on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023. The season consists of 12 episodes with three new episodes premiering every week. You can stream the first season of The Legend of Vox Machina on Prime Video.
