The 57th National Society of Film Critics Awards held on January 7, 2023, found their winners as a result of the online voting with the participation of 54 members. TÁR and the Colin Farrell led The Banshees of Inisherin, which left their mark on the award season, were prominent pictures at the ceremony once again.
Returning to the big screen after 15 years, director Todd Field’s drama TÁR won Best Picture and Best Screenplay, and Cate Blanchett, the film’s lead, won Best Actress. Colin Farrell, the leading actor in The Banshees of Inisherin, which is expected to accompany TÁR in the 2023 Oscar race, took home the Best Actor award, while Kerry Condon won Best Supporting Actress.

Aftersun’s Charlotte Wells Won Best Director Prize

Surprisingly, the winner of the Best Director prize was Charlotte Wells with her debut film Aftersun, starring Paul Mescal. The Best Supporting Actor prize went to Ke Huy Quan, star of Everything Everywhere All at Once. He is the most-awarded actor this award season, with over 20 wins.
The National Society of Film Critics dedicated the awards to Sheila Benson, an American journalist and film critic. She served as a film critic for the Los Angeles Times from 1981 to 1991. The National Society of Film Critics said in a statement:
