When it comes to Hilary Swank possibly reprising her role from The Next Karate Kid for an appearance in Cobra Kai, fans have long been asking, “Will she or won’t she?” While the Cobra Kai creators have expressed their desire to have Swank’s Julie Pierce show up at some point in the series, it’s not something that has yet materialized five seasons into the show. Perhaps we could see this happen in a sixth season on Netflix, but even if the Cobra Kai team is interested in Julie’s return, Swank would still have to agree.
Per Deadline, the question came up with Swank during a TCA presentation for her upcoming ABC series Alaska Daily. It was not a surprise as there were many fans hoping for a surprise appearance in the recently-released fifth season, and the speculation continues as to whether it will ever happen. Unfortunately, Swank didn’t have an answer, as she wanted to keep the focus on her new show.

In an interview with Fandom, Hurwitz couldn’t promise that Swank would appear in Cobra Kai but made it clear that the show’s creative team is a big fan of the actress, suggesting they are at least hoping that it happens eventually. As Hurwitz put it:
