The Rings of Power premiered Thursday night, bringing fans back to the beloved land of Middle-earth and beyond while introducing a new generation to the world created by J.R.R. Tolkien. The series, based on the appendices of Tolkien’s work, is sure to drive away some fans as it strays from the set-in-stone history that’s been established. However, from a pure fantasy standpoint, The Rings of Power has everything necessary to be a smash-hit for the planned five-season run.
