Time will tell if we ever see Henry Cavill slip back into the red-and-blue tights as the Man of Steel, but some fans are thinking that we could see it in Black Adam. As of now, there are no officially-announced movies in the works at Warner Bros. with Cavill on board to return as Superman. Meanwhile, there are other Superman projects in the works, and that has led some fans to feel that Cavill’s run in the role is firmly in the past.

Not so fast, The Rock says. Speaking on Jake’s Takes about the potentiality of a Black Adam vs. Superman battle in the DCEU, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson explained how he already has a complete scene of the two characters’ confrontation plotted out in his mind. It’s something he could imagine extending into multiple feature films. Johnson imagined how the fight would begin and said how his love for Superman is why he’s so eager to make it happen, but iterated that there’s no guarantee that it will at this point.

Johnson also commented on how listening to what the fans want really helped him out with his success in professional wrestling. While spending the past several years developing Black Adam, Johnson has similarly noticed the fans clamoring for Black Adam vs. Superman. Because of this, Johnson says that all throughout this process, the goal was to introduce Black Adam as the most powerful being on this planet, making him a formidable foe to the superhero known as the most powerful being in the universe. As The Rock says:

Black Adam Is This Planet’s Most Unstoppable Force

This interview follows a recent tease posted to Instagram where Johnson speaks about Black Adam in a video. The actor makes a mention of the “third act” of the film before going on to claim how Black Adam is the “most powerful and unstoppable force on this planet.” He repeats himself with a wink at the camera, naturally having fans wondering if the most unstoppable force in the universe will be showing up in the third act of Black Adam. From the video:

Black Adam will be released in movie theaters on Oct. 21, 2022.
