Scott Calvin is back! The new trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series The Santa Clauses brings Tim Allen back as jolly old Saint Nick for a festive adventure that is sure to be a massive hit this holiday season. Released courtesy of the official Disney Plus YouTube channel, The Santa Clauses picks up with Scott Calvin and his family with Scott deciding that it is now time to retire and pass the mantle onto someone else. The Santa Clauses picks up with our hero Scott Calvin, who has now been Santa Claus for nearly thirty years. And is still as jolly as ever. But as Christmas declines in popularity, so does his Santa magic. Scott struggles to keep up with the demands of the job, as well as being there for his family. Upon discovering there is a way to retire from his post, and on the brink of his 65th birthday, Scott considers stepping down as Santa Claus and finding a worthy successor so that he can become a better father and husband.

The Santa Clauses will act as a continuation of the treasured Santa Clause franchise, which first began way, way back in 1994. The Disney+ miniseries will find Tim Allen returning as Scott Calvin aka Santa Claus alongside Elizabeth Mitchell as Carol Calvin aka Mrs. Claus; Austin Kane as Buddy “Cal” Calvin-Claus, Scott’s youngest son; and Allen’s real-life daughter Elizabeth Allen-Dick as Sandra Calvin-Claus, the youngest child of Scott and Carol.
The rest of the cast includes, Kal Penn as Simon Choksi, whose life changes when he visits the North Pole; Matilda Lawler as Betty, Santa’s Chief of Staff; Rupali Redd as Grace Choksi, Simon’s kind-hearted daughter; Devin Bright as Noel, Santa’s right-hand elf; Laura San Giacomo as Befana the Christmas Witch; and Peyton Manning, who makes an appearance as himself as a potential candidate for the next Santa. The Santa Clauses will also see original The Santa Clause star David Krumholtz reprise his role as Bernard, Santa’s former right-hand elf.

The last time Tim Allen sported the Santa suit and big bushy beard was back in 2006 with The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. Seeing Allen back is sure to be an absolute treat for fans this Christmas, and Allen has since revealed what it was like to put the suit back on. And how it affected people on set.
“As I walked on set for the first time in the full regalia, everybody got very quiet, both adults and kids,” Allen said. “When I show up dressed in the full suit and everything else, there’s big smiles on people’s faces. Little kids are quiet. I had totally forgotten that. It does feel like Santa’s in the room.”
The Santa Clauses is set to premiere with the first two episodes, “Chapter One: Good To Ho” and “Chapter Two: The Secessus Clause,” on November 16, 2022, on Disney+.
