Getting the exclusive streaming rights to The Simpsons has been a good investment for Disney with the beloved animated series serving as one of the most popular offerings on Disney+. Per TheWrap, was analyzed as the highest demand series for the month of December at 52.75 times higher than the average series demand. That’s a continued trend as The Simpsons has notably garnered high viewership on Disney+ since the streaming platform launched with the Fox program available in 2019.

At that time, the first 30 seasons of The Simpsons were made available for streaming. New episodes have consistently been added to the platform as well as the series continues on. As of now, the past 33 seasons are available. This allows fans to check out newer episodes on a regular basis, but there may be even more longtime fans who spend more time binging past episodes repeatedly. The Simpsons is a series that has held up well with its classic episodes with many fans considering the first ten seasons to be the “golden age” of the show.

Partnering up with Disney+ has also allowed for several crossover short films featuring characters from The Simpsons. The short film Plusaversary acknowledged the 2-year anniversary of Disney+ with Homer Simpson and Goofy. The Simpsons also crossed over with Marvel for The Good, the Bart, and the Loki, while Lisa explored her dark side with Disney villains in the more recent Welcome to the Club. Another short, The Force Awakens from Its Nap, delved into Star Wars.

The Simpsons is 33 seasons in and shows now signs of slowing down anytime soon. How exactly the show will ultimately go on remains to be seen, but those involved seem to be pretty happy with how things are going with no apparent plans for any of the main voice cast or key creatives to step down in the near future. But no matter when that day eventually comes, the series will undoubtedly live forever with its presence on streaming.

Following an American family in the fictional town of Springfield, the series stars Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, and Nancy Cartwright.
