Peacock’s The Traitors has officially been renewed. Per Variety, it’s been announced that the reality show will be coming back for another season on the streaming platform. The news comes weeks after the first season premiered in January to high viewership, with Peacock declaring The Traitors as its No. 1 original reality series. Corie Henson, NBCUniversal’s EVP of entertainment unscripted content, addressed the renewal in a statement.

“The Traitors is an ambitious, highly addictive and spontaneous format that keeps contestants and viewers on their toes,”Henson says. “Alan Cumming is a well-dressed genius, the producers at Studio Lambert are brilliant storytellers and the show is the perfect mix of drama and suspense to keep our Traitors and Faithfuls craving more.”

Studio Lambert CEO Stephen Lambert adds, “We hugely enjoyed making the US version of this hit format with NBC and giving Peacock’s audience a highly bingeable murder mystery game full of intrigue and dramatic twists. This is the game which shows how people judge each other, often leaping to false conclusions, in a way that’s revealing and entertaining, and we’re excited to be making a second season with Alan as together we build on the success of the first.”

Hosted by Alan Cumming, The Traitors follows a group of contestants playing a Mafia-style game wherein a handful of them are declared the “Traitors,” secretly in cahoots unbeknownst to the other players. Those who aren’t traitors are considered “Faithful.” The goal is for the Faithful to vote out all of the Traitors in order to win a grand prize. The first seasons features a mix of former reality show contestants along with new players.
