A pair of new posters put both The Umbrella Academy and their variant rivals The Sparrow Academy on display. Both teams of super-powered families will come to blows as they attempt to navigate exactly what in the multiversal madness has happened when they return to screens in The Umbrella Academy Season 3, which will land on Netflix next month.

Released via Twitter, the first poster reunites us with the titular Umbrella Academy. Fronted by their bulky leader Luther Hargreeves, played by Tom Hopper, the rest of the gang is all here, including David Castañeda as Diego Hargreeves, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison Hargreeves, Robert Sheehan as Klaus Hargreeves, Aidan Gallagher as Five Hargreeves, and Elliot Page as Viktor Hargreeves. Following the real-life transition of actor Elliot Page, Viktor will come out as a transgender man in the third season of The Umbrella Academy.

The second poster gives us our best look yet at rivals The Sparrow Academy. Adorned in red and black leather suits that would work well in any of the big or small screen superhero outings, The Sparrow Academy look a lot more organized than The Umbrella Academy ever have.

After catching a shadowy glimpse of them at the end of the second season, The Umbrella Academy Season 3 will introduce The Sparrow Academy in all its glory. The team will be led by #1 (Justin Cornwell), a charming, chiseled, colossus, who keeps the family together. Backing him up are an alternate version of Ben (Justin H. Min), now known as #2, who is far from the sweet Ben we know and love; Fei AKA #3 (Britne Oldford), who comes across as a misanthrope who would rather be alone than spend even a second with you; Alphonso AKA #4 (Jake Epstein), whose years of crime-fighting have left his face and body with countless visual reminders of his battles; Sloane AKA #5 (Genesis Rodriguez), a romantic and a dreamer who feels a higher cosmic calling; and #6, Jayme (Cazzie David), a loner hidden under a hoodie who doesn’t say much because she doesn’t have to.

The poster also once again gives us another look at the most intriguing family member, #7, Christopher, a telekinetic cube of unknown origin who can turn the room freezing cold and induce paralyzing fear.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3 Will Hit Netflix in June

Based on Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s Dark Horse comic book series of the same name, The Umbrella Academy begins in 1989, with a highly unusual occurrence wherein forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven of these mysterious babies are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire industrialist, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world.

While Season 3 remains rather mysterious, it will likely center on The Umbrella Academy surviving in this new timeline, battling The Sparrow Academy (before maybe becoming friends), and attempting to get home. The Umbrella Academy Season 3 is due to be released on Netflix on June 22, 2022.
