Most people that can remember the 90s remember Miss Cleo’s famous tagline “Call Me Now” from her television infomercials. Born Youree Dell Harris, she captivated America with her psychic tarot readings in the late 1990s, quickly becoming a household name. Now viewers get the chance to get an in-depth look into the person behind the revered psychic in the upcoming HBO Max original documentary Call Me Miss Cleo premiering Dec. 15.
The trailer for Call Me Miss Cleo dropped on Thursday, providing a closer look into what aspects of Miss Cleo’s life the documentary will focus on. Viewers can expect more than just a story that depicts Harris’ rise and subsequent fall from the mainstream. It seems that the documentary plans to offer deeper context into who Harris was outside of Miss Cleo and unriddle the fraud allegations against the Psychic Readers Network, which led to Harris’ ultimate demise as a beloved reader. In a statement obtained from IndieWire, HBO’s Head of original content, Sarah Aubrey, states that “[HBO’s] excited at the opportunity to help tell [Harris’] true story in ‘Call Me Miss Cleo’ through the testimonials of those closest to the mysterious TV personality.”

Revisiting an era of corded phones and 1-900-numbers, Call Me Miss Cleo ultimately reveals the truth behind the ever-enigmatic woman who took TV by storm, only to abruptly disappear from public consciousness.
