Clémence Poésy & Adam Nagaitis are the latest stars to join Norman Reedus in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, according to a new Deadline report. The series will follow the titular character as he heads overseas to France, encountering new walkers and characters never before seen in TWD universe. The AMC show is set and expected to arrive after the conclusion of The Walking Dead, currently airing its 11th and final season, with a finale date set for Nov. 20.

Poésy will serve as the female lead, Isabelle, according to Deadline. She’s a progressive religious group member who joins forces with the titular star on their journey across France. During their time together, Isabelle’s character will confront her dark past during their time in Paris. Nagaitis plays Quinn, a displaced Brit and powerful black marketeer who owns the Demimonde, an underground nightclub in Paris. According to the report, the two characters will star as leads, opposite Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus).

If The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is anything like its predecessors, the cast will gradually expand into a complete ensemble over the first few seasons. Like The Walking Dead, Dixon will find more survivors during his journey, strengthening his group and making new enemies. Poésy is known for her work in several hit films, including Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, In Bruges, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, and 127 Hours. Nagaitis will return to AMC after his time on The Terror, though he’s also known for his work on The Commuter and The Man with the Iron Heart. Fans can tune into the Daryl Dixon spinoff when it premieres, with a release planned for sometime in 2023.

Melissa McBride Was Initially Set to Star Alongside Norman Reedus

Melissa McBride’s Carol has been a part of The Walking Dead since the beginning, as her character has undergone quite a transformation since the first episodes aired. Carol and Daryl have always been a fantastic team, so it made sense for the character to join Dixon in the upcoming spinoff.

However, earlier this year, McBride announced she would be backing out of the project, as a move to Europe for filming wasn’t feasible for the actress at the time. However, that doesn’t mean the end for Daryl and Carol, as Reedus spoke with Variety, saying, “I imagine those characters are going to meet back up at some point, and they might even meet up with some other characters down the road,” he explains.

Of course, fans are patiently waiting for the return of Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), as the couple is set to receive a mini-series at AMC that concludes their stories which began in the initial series. But, for now, fans can tune into the climactic conclusion 12 years in the making as The Walking Dead gears up for the series finale on Nov. 20.
