The Wilds follows a group of teenage girls who wind up stranded on a deserted island due to a plane crash, an event that was secretly orchestrated as they are the subjects of a social experiment. In the second season, the show picked up from where season 1 left off and introduced a new group of survivors consisting of all males who find themselves in a similar situation. The two groups must learn to collaborate which is easier said than done.

Sarah Streicher created The Wilds and served as an executive producer alongside showrunner Amy Harris, Dylan Clark for Dylan Clark Productions, and the late Jamie Tarses of Fanfare. The series starred Rachel Griffiths, David Sullivan, Troy Winbush, Sophia Ali, Sarah Pidgeon, Jenna Clause, Erana James, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Reign Edwards, and Shannon Berry, as well as Zack Calderon, Aidan Laprete, Nicholas Coombe, Charles Alexander, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Reed Shannon, Tanner Ray Rook, and Alex Fitzalan.
The Wilds Getting Canceled Was a Surprise for the Cast
The cast had been hopeful about returning for a third season of The Wilds and had even teased what was to come in a previous interview with Cinema Blend. Shelby actress Mia Healey expressed the excitement she had over all of the possibilities that had been created moving forward with season 2’s plotlines, imagining what might come next after the cliffhanger that ended season 2.
“[Season 3] really excites me,” Healey said. “That is like, ‘Okay, this is a whole different ball game now.’ And also, we have the whole bunker, you know? We’re not just on the island anymore. So these guys are in their sweats in this bunker, like investigating the whole thing and working together. It’s gonna be huge if we do season 3, obviously.”
Toni actress Erana James added, “I’m thinking about the writers and I’m like, you have such a tall order and such a massive task. Like I can’t even imagine what direction it’s gonna go.”
Unfortunately, we will probably never know. You can find The Wilds streaming on Prime Video, just know there won’t be a third season on the way.
