TIFF 2022: The Most Exciting Movies Making a World Premiere
A Gaza Weekend
Alcove Entertainment, British Film Institute (BFI) & Film 4.
If one were to make a movie by taking into regard the COVID-19 outbreak and the Palestine-Israel conflict and adding some humor to these dreadful issues, A Gaza Weekend would be the result. The title seems to suggest that the characters are taking a trip to the Gaza strip; thus this film considers the Gaza strip to be the “safest place” in the world when in the real world’s context it is one of the most dangerous war zones. The story focuses on a British journalist, Michale (Stephen Mangan) and an Israeli, Keren (Mouna Hawa), both attempting to enter the Gaza strip.

CJ E&M
Broker is a South-Korean drama film by Hirokazu Kore-eda that was released in June 2022. In his review of the film, See states:
Interestingly, the film is not about your typical brokers but rather focuses on the brokering of babies who are left behind, anonymously, in baby boxes by their biological parents. Given that Song Kang-Ho, who is known for his performances in Parasite and Memories of Murder, is one of the main characters, it is obvious that Broker is a must-watch.
Hirokazu’s visual storytelling could be described as delicate, tender, and stupendously detail-oriented.
