Pamela Anderson has alleged that Home Improvement star Tim Allen once flashed his genitals at her while working on the set of the sitcom. In her new book, “Love, Pamela”, the actress and model charts her rise to fame as one of the most recognized sex symbols of a generation. One except from the book obtained by Variety details an incident that took place when she was 23, and Tim Allen flashed her in a hallway as a way of “making them even” in a reference to Anderson’s naked Playboy shoots of the time. Tim Allen has denied the incident ever occurred in a statement to the publication.
According to Anderson’s book, the incident took place in 1991, and is one of many explosive claims made by the star. Home Improvement was one of Anderson’s first screen credits, and she appeared in two seasons before leaving to focus on her other breakout role as C.J. Parker in Baywatch. Her memoir reads:
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
At the time of the alleged incident, Tim Allen was 14 years older than Anderson. Variety reached out to the actor, who most recently appeared in Disney+ sequel series The Santa Clauses, and he categorically denied the incident ever took place. He said:
“On the first day of filming, I walked out of my dressing room, and Tim was in the hallway in his robe. He opened his robe and flashed me quickly — completely naked underneath. He said it was only fair, because he had seen me naked. Now we’re even. I laughed uncomfortably.”
“No, it never happened. I would never do such a thing.”
Pamela Anderson Will Tell Her Story In A Netflix Documentary
Netflix
As well as her revealing memoir, Pamela Anderson is looking to “set the record straight” with a new documentary on Netflix. Pamela, A Love Story arrives on the platform on January 31, the same day as her book is released. After shunning recent shows like Pam & Tommy, the 55-year-old says in the trailer for the documentary:
Director Ryan White previously discussed bringing Pamela’s story to life in her way. He commented:
“I wanna take control of the narrative for the first time.”
The documentary promises to be a warts-and-all look at the life of a cultural icon, who grew up in the public eye, sometimes for the wrong reasons. According to White, “Pamela is unapologetically Pamela.” Whether the documentary will include any of the seemingly controversial revelations that are in her memoir is unclear, but one way or the other, the world is certainly going to be talking about Pamela Anderson again.
“She’s [Anderson] telling her story in her own words, finally, but she also doesn’t know which archival videos and personal diaries will be used in the final film. She gave us carte blanche to use the archival [footage for] how we thought best told the story, it’s a sign of how authentically Pamela has lived her life. She owns every part of her life — the good, the bad and the ugly. It’s an incredibly vulnerable but brave way to live.”
