Simon would eventually meet up with a woman who, unbeknownst to him, had also been tasked by this stranger. A nun, Sister Carmel had wished to hear God’s voice again and was told that to achieve this, she would have to get pregnant. When the two met, a connection led to a passionate night. Soon Sister Carmel would confirm that she was pregnant, as she could hear the voice of God. Simon would later ensure that he had finally painted a beautiful painting, admitting that it was of the woman he had met. Timothy may have limited screen time, but he uses the time to convey the difference in demeanor well. Once, he is a man, frustrated and distraught over his work. And then he is content and looking forward to the life he will lead as a father.

5 Seamus McTiernan - The Luck of the Irish (2001)

     Buena Vista Television

One of the first major roles for Omundson was that of a leprechaun in a Disney Channel film. As Seamus, Omundson would be the film’s antagonist, stealing Kyle’s lucky coin for himself, thus causing Kyle and his maternal family to begin turning back into their leprechaun form. After holding up Kyle’s maternal grandfather, the two start competing in Gaelic sports, with the coin and Kyle’s grandfather at stake.

After Kyle manages to tie Seamus, Seamus reneges on the deal, stating that since he didn’t lose, he didn’t have to give up anything. Kyle would the ante up, gambling his freedom against Seamus’ in a game of basketball, where the use of his lucky coin would be prohibited. After an intense match, where Seamus uses plenty of his tricks, Kyle wins and gets the last laugh. Seamus had agreed to go back to the shores of Kyle’s father, not knowing Kyle’s paternal family wasn’t Irish. The look of anger when Seamus realizes he’s been outwitted and banished to Lake Erie is the payoff the film needed after all of the evil shenanigans Omundson brought to the role.

4 Lance Reiner - Voltron: The End (2011)

     Youtube

One may not have taken Timothy Omundson to be a fan of retro cartoons, but he participated in this fan-made short film depicting a dark future for the Voltron franchise. Taking on the role of an older Lance, the Red Lion pilot would wake up after an attack that seemingly left him the only surviving paladin of Voltron.

Taking stock of his surroundings, Lance would be informed by the lion’s A.I. that he had only ten minutes of oxygen remaining and that any attempt at sending a signal out would deplete his reserves immensely. Despite the danger, Lance would readily accept his fate and send out the call to warn the galaxy that Voltron had fallen and that something was coming to harm everyone. While the film is about ten minutes in length, Timothy Omundson commands the scene, depicting a battle-hardened young warrior who had to make a tough decision for the good of the galaxy.

3 Aric Jorgan - Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011)

     Electronic Arts

Something you may not have known about Timothy Omundson is that he took part in the Star Wars franchise, albeit in a video game now considered Legends canon. Taking on the role of a Cathar soldier, Aric Jorgan is the leader of the Old Republic’s Havoc Squad and is one of the first allies a player can meet if they decide to be a Trooper.

Aric is a loyal man, more so to his team than to his commanding officers, often breaking formation so that he can rescue his team. Slowly losing faith in the direction of the Republic, Aric would eventually join the Alliance. With a strong demeanor, it’d be easy to believe this character could be a bit one-note. Still, Timothy Omundson would get to show his romantic chops, as Aric is a potential romance option if the player is presenting as female. One can only hope that Aric becomes one of the many characters to become canon in the future.

2 King Richard - Galavant (2015-2016)

     Disney-AbC Domestic Television

Adding even more variety to his resume, Timothy Omundson would get to show off his singing and dancing skills in the musical television series Galavant (2015-2016). Initially depicted as the cruel King, Richard desires to prove himself to his wife by capturing Galavant and killing him in her honor. However, the King sorely lacks combat skills and would soon be deposed by his older brother and his own wife.

Being saved by his best friend, Gareth, Richard flees the kingdom with Galavant, and the two would grow very close over the course of the show. Richard would get to sing many songs, including a duet of love, when he fell for Roberta. Continuing the show’s mocking of other hit fantasy series such as Game of Thrones (2011-2019), King Richard would even adopt a tiny lizard that he proclaimed a dragon hatchling. A statement that would ultimately prove correct.

1 Carlton Lassiter - Psych (2006-2014)

     NBCUniversal Television Distribution

Of course, we can’t ignore the role that brought Timothy Omundson much acclaim, his role as the police detective Carlton Lassiter. In another part where Omundson would play an antagonist, Carlton would hold a grudge against Shawn Spencer, a man claiming to be a psychic, who had outed Lassiter’s inter-department relationship with his partner.

The show would prove so popular throughout the series that they would bring the cast back for three television/streaming movies. While Omundson couldn’t provide much time for the first film, having recently suffered a stroke, the actor would be welcomed back with much applause, having the second film named in his honor- Psych 2: Lassie Come Home (2020).
