Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland has responded with overwhelming positivity to the idea of sharing the screen with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. The actor, who will face-off against all manner of multiversal madness in Spider-Man: No Way Home later this month, heaped praise on Cox’s work in the Daredevil Netflix series, as well as the performance of his co-star Vincent D’Onofrio, and would clearly love for Spidey and Daredevil to join forces in the future. As if they haven’t already…

The idea of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home has been around for a while now, with the actor reportedly being spotted in costume on set of the upcoming MCU sequel. While nothing has been confirmed in any official capacity, a recent leak, which shows Cox as Matt Murdock sat at a table in Peter Parker’s apartment alongside Aunt May and Happy Hogan, has emerged and is damn convincing if nothing else. The image seemingly lines up with a scene that was recently described in an interview by Tom Holland, during which he teased the inclusion of a mysterious fourth character. “It’s four people sitting at a table, having a conversation about what it’s like to be a superhero, and it was amazing,” Holland said. “The other day we watched the scene, my brother and I, and our jaws were on the floor.” So, should Cox appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, expect to see him in the guise of Matt Murdock only, with the costumed crime-fighter no doubt being saved for future projects.

“I loved Daredevil. I really, really enjoyed it. I thought Charlie Cox was excellent. I thought [Kingpin actor] Vincent D’Onofrio did a fantastic job as Wilson Fisk. It was really cool to see a darker side to a Marvel character. That fight scene in the hallway was spectacular. I know some of the stunt guys that built that sequence. I thought it was a great show.”

The theory that Charlie Cox will reprise the Daredevil role has been given further fuel by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige himself, who recently revealed that, should the character be brought back into the fray, he will indeed be played by Cox. “If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil,” Feige said. “Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”

Charlie Cox meanwhile has been flat-out denying the suggestion that he will suit up again anytime soon and has in fact grown concerned that ongoing rumors could hurt his chances. “Also if there was a chance of that happening in the future, I don’t want to say something that could potentially jeopardize those chances because the people high up at Marvel, maybe they see this stuff or hear what I say and maybe that influences,” the actor said. “I don’t know. I have no idea. I love how passionate the fans are and I feel very, very, very touched that so many of them have gone online and made their voices heard about the desire for me to come back.” Thankfully, according to Kevin Feige, it doesn’t seem to have hindered his return at all.

Spider-Man: No Way Home finds Peter Parker asking Doctor Strange to help make his identity as Spider-Man a secret following its public revelation, which leads to the multiverse being unleashed, and is scheduled to be released on December 17, 2021. This comes to us from Inverse.
