Tom Holland’s Peter Parker willl have his web-slinging hands full in Spider-Man: No Way Home, as he’ll be tussling with major villains from throughout the multiverse. Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, and Jamie Foxx’s Electro are among the big baddies which have already been revealed in the trailers, and chances are, there will be many other surprises that we’ll see in the movie. We’ll find out for sure when the movie is finally out in theaters just days from now.
There doesn’t seem to be any indication that Kraven the Hunter will be in No Way Home, not that this would be shocking. The focus is clearly on the established villains from various movie universes banding together to take on the MCU’s Spider-Man. Kraven has been featured in comic books, video games, and animated programs, but there’s no previous live-action Kraven character to call back upon. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible that other Marvel characters, such as Kraven, could still make their debut in No Way Home.

In any case, if the multiverse concept with the various villains didn’t work out, we could be seeing Tom Holland’s Spidey fighting Kraven the Hunter instead. Recently speaking with Collider, the Spider-Man: No Way Home cast revealed that the original idea director Jon Watts had in mind was to bring in Kraven to serve as the main villain. Tom Holland says he was impressed with the pitch Watts had in mind for the Spidey vs. Kraven movie, but he didn’t want to spoil it in case that movie ends up happening down the line.
There is a Kraven the Hunter movie currently in development. Aaron Taylor-Johnson was cast to play the characters in a Sony movie, sharing its universe with Venom and Morbius. It was also previously reported that J. C. Chandor would direct using a screenplay by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, rewriting a prior draft by Richard Wenk. The set release date for that project is Jan. 13, 2023. It’s not clear if and how this movie will affect Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies in the MCU, though it was recently reported that Holland would be returning in a new planned trilogy of Spider-Man movies.
“For a long time, there was going to be a Kraven movie that was going to be the third movie because things weren’t working out and all sorts of different stuff. Jon pitched me this Kraven movie, which actually was really cool. I don’t want to talk about it in case that movie ends up happening down the line, but it was fun.”
First, we can all enjoy Spider-Man: No Way Home for what it is, even if there’s no appearance from Kraven the Hunter. Fans seem to be most excited about the returns of two characters who are not even officially confirmed by Marvel to be involved. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield have long been rumored to team up with Tom Holland in No Way Home, but everyone involved has been consistent with their denials that this isn’t the case. We’ll finally know on Dec. 17 when the movie is released in theaters.
