Daredevil star Charlie Cox sees his past catching up with him in the first trailer for the upcoming Netflix series, Treason. Released courtesy of the official Netflix YouTube channel, secrets, lies, and diplomatic relationships will all come to light in Treason, which finds Cox taking the lead as the newly appointed head of MI6. A new limited series from the writer of Bridge of Spies, Treason finds the Marvel actor as MI6 deputy Adam Lawrence. Trained and groomed by MI6, Adam’s career seems all-set. But his life is suddenly thrown into chaos when his past catches up with him in the form of Kara, a Russian spy with whom he shares a complicated history. Adam begins to question everything in his life, with a triangular relationship forming between Kara, Adam, and his wife, Maddy, with each trying to destroy the other’s lives.

Created by writer Matt Charman, who is also on board the Netflix series as an executive producer, and helmed by The Sandman and The Witcher director Louise Hooper, Treason is latest major project fronted by Charlie Cox, who is best known for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. Outside of the world of costumed heroes, Cox is also best-recognized for performances in the likes of Stardust, The Theory of Everything, and King of Thieves on the big screen, as well as the crime drama series Kin on the small screen.

Treason boasts an impressive supporting cast alongside Charlie Cox, including Quantum of Solace and Black Widow star Olga Kurylenko, Game of Thrones and Taboo actress Oona Chaplin, The Originals and Treadstone star Tracy Ifeachor, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Belfast actor Ciarán Hinds.

Treason is just one of the several intriguing new projects due to debut on Netflix this December. Audiences can currently sit down and stream the likes of the monster movie Troll from director Roar Uthaug, which sees an ancient troll awakened in a Norwegian mountain; a new adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover starring Emma Corrin and Jack O’Connell; the animated outing Scrooge: A Christmas Carol with Luke Evans, Olivia Colman, and Jonathan Pryce; and the documentary “Sr.”, which explores the life of Robert Downey Jr.’s late father.

The streaming platform will soon premiere the documentary series Harry & Meghan, which will allow the two prominent figures to share their side of their high-profile love story and is sure to become a major talking point. The critically acclaimed Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio will land on Netflix later this month, as will Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical, The Witcher: Blood Origin, They Cloned Tyrone, and White Noise. The whodunit sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which finds Daniel Craig return to the role of Detective Benoit Blanc in order to solve another star-studded mystery, is also set to hit Netflix on December 23.

Treason is scheduled to debut on Netflix later this month on December 26.
