Uma Thurman and Samuel L. Jackson have joined the cast of The Kill Room, a “darkly comic” thriller about a hitman who accidentally becomes an art world sensation. The pair has previously co-starred in Pulp Fiction (though they didn’t appear in any scenes together) and Kill Bill: Volume 2, both films directed by Quentin Tarantino.
Nicol Paone (Funny or Die, Friendsgiving) will direct The Kill Room from an original script by Jonathan Jacobson. The film is set to go on floors soon and will be shot in New Jersey and New York. The synopsis for The Kill Room (via THR) reads: “The story follows a hitman, his boss (Jackson), an art dealer (Thurman), and a money-laundering scheme that accidentally turns the assassin into an overnight avant-garde sensation, one that forces her to play the art world against the underworld.” The main role has yet to be cast.

The Kill Room will be produced by Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman, and Jon Keeyes through their Yale Productions banner. The producers released the following statement:

The Kill Room does not yet have a release date, but it is set to begin production soon and could hit screens as early as 2023. Uma Thurman and Samuel L. Jackson will be collaborating after two decades, and presumably, fans will have high hopes for The Kill Room. Hopefully, they will share more scenes than they did in Kill Bill.

Jackson, Uma Thurman, and John Travolta would have been the most talked-about moment. In a short skit, just before Will Smith’s big win, the trio reunited on stage to celebrate Pulp Fiction’s 28th anniversary, with Jackson holding the mysterious briefcase as Thurman and Travolta recreated their iconic dance sequence.
Samuel L. Jackson too had a big night as he won the Lifetime Achievement Award in an untelevised ceremony. The Hollywood veteran has appeared in over 150 films in the last five decades. He is also technically the highest-grossing actor ever and has finally won an Oscar as well. At 73 years old, Jackson is showing no signs of slowing down and will next appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Secret Invasion, The Marvels, and Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle. He recently headlined the Apple TV+ miniseries, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, which premiered on March 11, 2022.
