Peacock’s Vampire Academy has brought together a cast of young up-and-coming stars who have proven to be rather passionate about adapting Richelle Mead’s young-adult novel series. And while the show primarily focuses on the young vampires preparing for politics and warfare, there is a strong cast of experienced vampires leading the way, training the youth, and presiding over a council under the vampire monarch.

Here we will review the actor’s previous accolades and what they bring to the show in their current role. These roles can trend towards television or other mediums such as film, video games, theatre, etc. We will be focusing on characters that are featured in multiple episodes of the series.

5 Kieron Moore

     Peacock

Despite the strong air of confidence he exudes, Kieron Moore is one of the less experienced members of the cast. His prior credits include minor appearances in series such as Sex Education, the short film Cold Below Lane (2021), and an appearance in Netflix’s The Sandman. The small resume makes Kieron’s work as Dmitry Belkov all the more impressive. Immediately carrying himself with pride and a calm demeanor, Dmitry is set up to be Rose’s love interest as well as her mentor throughout the series. His role as an instructor for the Dhampir military training gives Kieron Moore the chance to show off his excellent combat expertise.

4 Andre Dae Kim

     DHX Distribution

Andre Dae Kim is another young actor experienced with high-school romance and drama, having appeared as Winston Chu in Degrassi: Next Class. Andre has also gotten strong screen time, appearing as a young Mark Cho for Netflix’s original series Locke & Key. While his work in the supernatural would take a strong turn with Vampire Academy, Andre Dae Kim also has experience with science-fiction, having portrayed Chief Kyle in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

In Vampire Academy, Andre Dae Kim takes on the role of Christain Ozera, a young Moroi vampire who specializes in the element of fire. Carrying strong feelings for Lissa, Christain would help Lissa lie to the council and convince them that she was a fire specialist when in reality, she hadn’t specialized in any element, threatening her claim to the throne.

3 Jennifer Kirby

     All3Media

Jennifer Kirby would get her start in acting with roles in short films such as Molly (2008), Mermaids Singing (2013), & Verona (2013). She would then gain expertise in adaptations of Shakespeare’s work, and took on the role of a nurse when she portrayed Valerie Dyer in both television series, Children in Need & Call the Midwife. Jennifer Kirby would then go on to become the firm leader of the Dhampir Guardians as Alberta Casey, an adaptation of Alberta Petrov from the novel series. In this role, Kirby gets to explore the morality of her character, tending to follow orders strictly, even if she might disagree with them.

2 Rhian Blundell

Rhian Blundell’s spot on this list is a bit of a cheat, as Vampire Academy is actually her first credited role. Which makes the trust that Marguerite MacIntyre & Julie Plec put in the young actress even more impeccable, seeing as she is a featured player in every episode of the series, most notably having a rivalry with Rose amidst their training in the Dhampir Guardians.

Rhian Blundell has already proven to be an actress to keep an eye on as she has finished filming for a film project entitled Nobody Girl (?). Being cast as a romantic co-star, Rhian Blundell is taking the momentum of starring in a young adult streaming series and riding it to new projects. Her time as the ambitious-yet-calculating Meredith Blackman will surely provide her with plenty of experience early into her career.

1 Sisi Stringer

     Warner Bros. Pictures

The most well-known name attached to the project, Sisi Stringer, turned heads with her appearance on the big screen as Mileena in Mortal Kombat (2021). During this epic performance, Sisi Stringer displayed her combat skills and ability to maintain a sinister demeanor even as comedic lines were tossed around.

Taking on one of the lead roles in Rose, Sisi Stringer gets to play an independent woman who works tirelessly to ensure that she is assigned as a Guardian to her best friend, Lissa Dragomir. With there appearing to be a psychic connection between the two, one that initially only Rose was aware of, the friends have proven to be there for one another when they’ve needed it most. With Vampire Academy reportedly on track for future seasons and talks of bringing Sisi Stringer back to play the role of Kitana in future entries in the Mortal Kombat franchise, there are plenty of chances to see Sisi Stringer in the future.
