The Simpsons Is Still Going Strong
Fox
The history of The Simpsons is impressive with the series showing no signs of ending anytime soon, even after more than three decades on the air. Originally conceived as a series of shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show, The Simpsons was spun off into its own animated series in the holiday season of 1989. The show has since surpassed 700 episodes 33 seasons in and is the longest-running American animated series, sitcom, and scripted primetime television series.
Created by Matt Groening, The Simpsons follows the members of the Simpson family along with their neighbors around the town of Springfield. The show’s voice cast includes Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, and Harry Shearer. Many special guest celebrities have also been featured on the series over the years, sometimes playing themselves while also often playing other characters.
There are many fans who seem to enjoy the older episodes of the series best. The show can be found streaming all of its past episodes on Disney+ where it serves as one of the streaming platform’s most popular offerings.
