The Suicide Squad star Daniela Melchior has been spotted alongside Vin Diesel in the latest image from the set of the upcoming action outing, Fast X. Assisting a content-looking Diesel with his make-up, Melchior shared the image from backstage to her official Instagram account which geo-tagged their location as being in London, England. Though, it looks like, with the use of a blue screen and few well-placed palm trees, London will be transformed into somewhere far more tropical.

Daniela Melchior’s role in the tenth Fast and Furious movie is currently unknown, but the actress did caption the image with “Always have your back big bro.” While the actress was likely just referring to her newfound kinship with actor Vin Diesel, could this actually be a hint that Melchior will be one of the Toretto clan? Perhaps Fast X will reveal that Dominic has a secret sister that we did not know about, much like the introduction of his brother, Jakob (John Cena), who was introduced in Fast 9.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

Almost nothing is known about the plot of Fast X, though it is expected that the movie will find Dom and his family once again saving the world using high speed, reckless driving, and teamwork. One thing that has now been revealed is that Fast X will add Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star Jason Momoa as the villain. Something that the actor is very much looking forward to. “It’s fun, I get to play the bad guy, which I haven’t gotten to do for a while,” Momoa said of his antagonistic role in Fast X. “Now, I get to be the bad boy. A very flamboyant bad boy. A little panache!”

Fast X Will Now be Directed by Louis Leterrier After a Falling Out Between Justin Lin & Vin Diesel

While it looks like Daniela Melchior is having a wonderful time working alongside Vin Diesel on Fast X, the action star has become known for being…difficult to work with. After a much-publicized fallout with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Diesel’s behavior recently led to Fast X director Justin Lin walking away from the franchise after just a few weeks of filming.

Reports have claimed a “major disagreement” between Justin Lin and Vin Diesel, which occurred during a four-person meeting, caused the filmmaker to part ways with the project. Diesel reportedly arrived with notes, something Justin Lin was understandably unhappy with, considering he believed the script to be finished, with the meeting reportedly ending with “a slammed door,” with sources saying that “Justin finally had enough and said, ‘This movie is not worth my mental health.’”

Lin had been signed on to helm both Fast X and its follow-up Fast and Furious 11, with the two movies confirmed to be bringing the long-running action series to a close. Instead, The Incredible Hulk’s Louis Leterrier will now direct Fast X, which is set to star Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, and Charlize Theron, Fast X will add Jason Momoa as the villain alongside Daniela Melchior and Brie Larson.

Fast X is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 19, 2023, by Universal Pictures.
