The investigation into Moses J. Moseley’s death has taken a big turn. Weeks ago, it was reported that the Walking Dead actor was found dead in his car near a freeway in Stockbridge, Georgia. He had died from a single gunshot wound and cops were initially investigating the death as a possible suicide as the gun was in Moseley’s lap and all the car doors were locked. However, Moseley’s family had suspected murder from the start, calling for cops to investigate the possibility thoroughly.

Per TMZ, the police investigation is now moving further away from the suicide theory with new evidence pointing to foul play. A member of Moseley’s family says investigators told them that the blood splatter evidence does not align with suicide. The actor had also been shot just below the eye, and suicide victims will usually put the gun directly to their temple or in their mouth. He is also described as having a “loose” grip on the gun, making it possible someone might have placed it in his hand to make the shooting look like a suicide.

While cops are looking into foul play, other theories are also being considered, such as an accidental death. Stockbridge Police Department Captain Randy Lee explains, “During the preliminary investigation, the potential of the death being a suicide was considered while not ruling out any other possibilities. As investigators progressed their investigation and more evidence was processed, reviewed and analyzed, other possibilities have presented themselves including accidental.”

He added, “It is important to note, the case is still currently open/active and ALL possibilities and leads are being thoroughly investigated.”

Moses J. Moseley Played One of The Walking Dead’s Most Iconic Walkers

Countless zombies have been shown on The Walking Dead, but every fan will remember the one played by Moses J. Moseley. He played Mike, one of the two “walker pets” who accompanied Michonne (Danai Gurira) in the third season. Several action figures were made of Mike and Terry, the other walker pet, with the two appearing on the cover of Entertainment Weekly in 2012.

“It was amazing. It was actually the fourth thing I ever did in my career. Just getting a chance to get on the show, I was blown away,” Moseley said of his Walking Dead experience in a We Are Indie Horror interview. “I was [in makeup] the majority of the time. It was about a two-and-a-half hour process. Literally, you’re just sitting there trying not to move too much. Every time you move they have to constantly adjust and you have to take your mind somewhere else and let them paint on you. It’s like the more they add to you the more they’re taking away. The finished product I thought was just phenomenal.”

Moseley’s other TV credits include The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, American Soul, Queen of the South, and Watchmen. He has also appeared in the films Joyful Noise, Trouble with the Curve, The Internship, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Volumes of Blood: Horror Stories, Attack of the Southern Fried Zombies, and Doll Murder Spree.
