It’s been a few weeks since Netflix decided not to move forward with a third season of Warrior Nun, but the fight for the renewal is far from over. The show, created by Simon Davis Barry, became a sensation after the debut of its second season. It was praised by the fans and the critics, with great reviews and the highest visualization numbers for an original show at the service.

But none of that was enough for the streaming service to give it a chance to continue, with the series joining a long list of canceled projects, mostly led by women and with LGBTQ characters on it, which set off the alarms of the audience and woke the fans up to fight for the story to keep going.

The fight now reaches its peak with a billboard outside Netflix’s headquarters, right in the middle of Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, as you can see in the images below:

As the tweet states, the billboard will be up for four weeks to help the campaign that grows stronger on social media, reaching 100,000 signatures on a renewal petition and with the series always present on trending topics with hashtags like #NetflixCorrectYourMistake and #SaveWarriorNun.

What’s Warrior Nun About?

     Netflix

In the first part, the series introduces Ava, a 19-year-old girl who wakes up in a morgue and discovers that she carries a sacred artifact related to heaven and its divinities inside. That halo granted her superpowers that aided her in the battle between good and evil. Later, she joined the order of warrior nuns who did not hesitate to take up their firearms against anyone who stood in their way.

In season 2, the plot advances in the story of Ava and her companions, who seek to maintain the population’s well-being and free choice from the religious cult in the face of the work of the demonic forces that threaten it. The protagonist and the Warrior Sisters of the Order of the Cruciform Sword must stop angel Adriel, played by William Miller.

The objective of this antagonist is to make his religion subdue the planet, so Ava and the Sisters will have to offer the greatest resistance to save believers and non-believers from a life subjugated to the wishes of this powerful being. To prevent this, they must use a specific weapon, and the most appropriate seems to be the crown of thorns that Jesus of Nazareth was forced to wear during his crucifixion.

Warrior Nun stars Alba Baptista, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Toya Turner, Lorena Andrea, Olivia Delcán, Tristán Ulloa, Thekla Reuten, Sylvia De Fanti and Andrea Tivadar.
