Netflix has finally revealed when audiences will once again be able to bask in the gothic wonder of The Addams Family, with the upcoming series Wednesday now revealed to debut on November 23, 2022. Revealed courtesy of Netflix via Twitter, the release date revelation comes alongside a new poster for the series, which finds lead star Jenna Ortega as the title character as well as hyping the involvement of director Tim Burton. You can check out the new poster for Wednesday below.

“Wednesday premieres November 23! Snap, snap,” the caption alongside the poster reads, referring to the famous theme tune by Vic Mizzy, which first accompanied the family when their first series aired back in 1964.

Wednesday has been described as a coming-of-age supernatural mystery comedy and will focus on beloved member of The Addams Family, Wednesday Addams, exploring her years as a high school student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday attempts to master her psychic powers, stop a monstrous killing spree of the town citizens, and solve the supernatural mystery that affected her family 25 years ago—all while navigating her new relationships.

Alongside Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán will star as Wednesday’s parents Morticia and Gomez, respectively. The rest of the cast includes the likes of Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, George Burcea as Lurch, and Victor Dorobantu as Thing (Uncle Fester’s whereabouts are currently a mystery) alongside Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, Georgie Farmer, Gwendoline Christie, and original The Addams Family star Christina Ricci, among others.

Wednesday comes from Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, with filmmaking icon and the director behind such gothic delights as Beetlejuice, Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street Tim Burton on board the Netflix series as both a director and executive producer.
