Even though it’s only been a little over a month since the first season of Wednesday hit Netflix, fans are already murderous for more of Wednesday’s macabre hijinks. Breaking the streaming service’s record of over 400 million hours watched within a week of its release, Wednesday has yet to be officially renewed for a second season—but it seems like it’s only a matter of time.
Once the order comes through, series creators Al Gough and Miles Millar tell The Hollywood Reporter they’re ready to go with a roadmap in hand. Sharing what viewers can expect from a second season, the duo teased more of a fan favorite friendship: Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) and her roommate at Nevermore Academy, Enid (Emma Myers).

The showrunners teased that they’re also excited to explore the relationship between Wednesday and her equally-morbid mother, Morticia (played in this iteration by Catherine Zeta-Jones) in later seasons, adding:

Speaking of evolving relationships, fans are dying to know if the relationship between Wednesday and the polar-opposite Enid will ever bloom into anything more than their current budding, begrudging friendship. Though Gough and Millar are adamant that they won’t be “misdirected” by fans who hope to see a romantic relationship between the roommates, the possibility isn’t off the table—it all depends on how the characters organically evolve.
Season 1 of Wednesday is now available on Netflix.
