Netflix has unveiled the official teaser trailer for Wendell & Wild. As a film that utilizes stop-motion animation, Wendell & Wild is brought to life by Henry Selick, one of the very best filmmakers with experience in that department as the director of movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline. Ahead of the arrival of Wendell & Wild on Netflix next month, you can check out the new teaser trailer below.
Selick directed Wendell & Wild using a screenplay co-written with Oscar-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us, Nope). The two also produced the film alongside Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Win Rosenfeld. Executive producers include Lindsay Williams, Eddie Gamarra, Kamil Oshundara, and Ian Cooper.

The movie follows a young orphan whose demons are the titular duo voiced by Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key. The official synopsis for Wendell & Wild reads:

Jordan Peele also voices one of the titular characters as the voice of Wild, and he brought back his old Key and Peele co-star, Keegan-Michael Key, to co-star as the voice of Wendell. The voice cast for Wendell & Wild also includes such names as Lyric Ross, Angela Bassett, James Hong, Tamara Smart, Natalie Martinez, Tantoo Cardinal, Igal Naor, Gary Gatewood, Gabrielle Dennis, David Harewood, Maxine Peake, Ramona Young, Sam Zelaya, Seema Virdi, and Ving Rhames.
“It’s almost like the relationship you have with your toys when you’re little," Selick has teased of the tone of the film, via Tudum. “You believe they’re real and alive, and you imagine them being alive and having conversations. That’s the thing about stop motion: Somehow that thing exists.”
Wendell & Wild will first premiere in select movie theaters on Oct. 21, 2022, before becoming widely available on Netflix for streaming starting on Oct. 28, 2022.
