Gael GarcÍa Bernal is about to achieve another level of stardom, as Werewolf By Night will catapult the actor’s fame. Of course, Bernal has already seen plenty of success in Hollywood, but working with Marvel and Disney will undoubtedly boost his popularity to heights he has yet to see. Diego Luna has already witnessed what Disney could do for him, as he first appeared in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story back in 2016.
Luna would receive his own Disney+ series, Andor, focusing on his character before the events of the theatrical film, which is currently debuting every Wednesday. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bernal spoke about his close friendship with Luna and how the actor taught Bernal to navigate the mass fame of being in a major Disney property.

“We are doing something [Hulu’s La Máquina] together right now, and so we’re always kind of in touch with each other. It’s been great,” Bernal explains. “He’s also been a point of reference to help me. When we were at the D23 conference, he was the one who explained to me what was happening because it was my first time. It was quite crazy. But it was fascinating to be around all these other projects and people, and doing a press conference and press junket, in a sense, with all these different films and TV series was incredible.” Bernal continues, “I wish all premieres were like that where the films and series are combined. So it’s been great to have a good friend who’s also living something similar as well.”
Fans Want More From Gael GarcÍa Bernal
Disney Platform Distribution
Werewolf By Night has quickly become one of the most well-received projects in Marvel’s Phase 4, with a big reason being the performance of Gael GarcÍa Bernal. His portrayal of Jack Russell/Werewolf by Night has left fans wanting more, as the entry was genuinely unique in the MCU. Bernal, alongside Laura Donnelly as Elsa Bloodstone, lead the Halloween special, and audiences hope they will return to the connected universe.
Of course, it could be challenging to implement the characters in films like the Avengers or mainline projects. However, the characters could be explored further if Werewolf By Night leads to an interpretation of the Midnight Sons. For now, fans will have to wait and see if Bernal reprises his role, however, the strong reviews and viewership of the Halloween project should lead to further interpretations of the character, given Disney’s track record. Fans can see Gael GarcÍa Bernal in Werewolf By Night, and Diego Luna in Andor, both streaming exclusively on Disney+.
