Since the dawn of comic books, fans have frequently pitted their favorite superheroes against one another, by asking the age-old question “who would win in a fight?”. But no superhero has been compared to more than Superman. Superman is quite possibly the most powerful superhero of all time. Possessing a vast array of superpowers, including flight, super-speed, super-strength, laser vision, freeze breath, and not to mention, his indestructibility, with his only weakness being Kryptonite. No superhero has ever compared to the power and greatness of the son of Krypton. Even though many have tried, none have ever been able to recapture the magic of Superman.
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
The Avengers are one of the most famous and powerful superhero groups in Marvel. Consisting of heroes like Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Ant-Man. No matter how powerful a hero is, they will always be compared to one of the first superheroes to ever exist, Superman. If you have ever wondered who could take on Superman in a fight, then look no further, as we pit some of the most powerful Avengers in the MCU against the most powerful being in the universe, and decide who could come out on top.
Hawkeye
Marvel Studios
Now, before you throw your phone in outrage, it may surprise you to find that Hawkeye may not be such a preposterous suggestion at all. Yes, Hawkeye may not have any superpowers whatsoever, but his marksmanship is unparalleled in the MCU. Hawkeye comes with a huge variety of trick arrows, including explosive arrows, a giant Pym tech arrow, an acid arrow, as well as a putty arrow. So, if Hawkeye could fashion a Kryptonite arrow, Hawkeye would have no problem in taking down the Man of Steel. Similarly, Hawkeye is very strategic and tactical, so with enough prep time, Hawkeye could undoubtedly beat, or at the very least weaken Superman.
Ant-Man
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
Sure, Superman may be super-fast, and he may have super-strength, but Ant-Man has what Superman doesn’t, the ability to shrink and grow. Unfortunately, if Ant-Man decided to grow, Superman would have no problem defeating Ant-Man, but if Scott Lang stayed tiny, he has a chance of beating the Son of Krypton. When Ant-Man shrinks, he also gains super-speed and super-strength, which is enough to even the playing field between the two.
Vision
Mostly, Vision is pretty much a direct copy of Superman, as he is able to fly, shoot lasers, and have super-strength. Superman could quite easily beat Vision with just these three abilities. However, Vision has the ability to phase through objects, something Superman doesn’t have. Meaning Vision could run circles around Superman by simply just flying through him. It may also be important to add that Vision was one of the few characters in the MCU to be worthy enough to wield Thor’s mighty hammer, Mjolnir.
Iron Man
Tony Stark is one of the smartest characters in the MCU, and is able to build an Iron Man suit for virtually any occasion. So it wouldn’t be much of a surprise that Tony built, or at least could build, an Iron Man suit capable of beating Superman. Most likely, the whole suit is made of Kryptonite, so it would not only beat Superman, but quite possibly kill him. Superman’s defeat, however, is only down to Tony Stark having enough prep time.
Captain America
Captain America will certainly give Superman a run for his money, and deliver a super-powered brawl of the century, and while it’s still quite hard to predict who would win, Cap deserves so many more points for his sheer determination to get the job done. Steve Rogers will not stand down by any means necessary. Superman would have to kill Cap for him to give up fighting. Captain America comes with an indestructible Vibranium shield, as well as some incredible strength, being able to hold down a helicopter and stop Thanos from snapping his fingers. It may also be important to point out that Cap is even worthy enough to wield Mjolnir. Fans did get a type of tease of this thrilling battle in the third season of The Boys, when Homelander fought Soldier Boy, which proved that Cap could most definitely stand a chance against the Man of Steel.
Doctor Strange
Marvel StudiosDisney
The ex-Sorcerer Supreme knows every spell in the book, and with that there are an assortment of spells that Doctor Strange could cast; he could at the very least, confuse and stun Superman enough for him to flee. Doctor Strange could trap the Man of Steel in the Mirror Dimension, or even in an entirely different universe. There is no shortage of spells that Doctor Strange could throw at Superman to defeat him, and he’s not only taken down demons, but some of the most powerful villains in the MCU.
Captain Marvel
Praised as one of the most powerful heroes in the MCU, Captain Marvel is an indestructible force capable of quite possibly anything, as not even “the Mad Titan” Thanos could stop her. Sure, her character may have a little too much confidence, which paints Captain Marvel as egotistical, but Captain Marvel’s cosmic powers prove that she is unstoppable. Her powers could not only stand a chance against Superman, but most likely beat him as well.
Hulk
The battle between The Incredible Hulk and The Man of Steel is a throwdown that fans have wanted for years. The two heroes are utter heavyweights in their own respective franchises, and pitting the two against one another will be nothing short of epic. It’s hard to predict who would come out on top, but Hulk’s unstoppable rage and incomparable strength could certainly give him the edge.
Thor
The God of Thunder is hailed as the strongest Avenger, at least according to himself. Posing god-like strength and an ample amount of electrifying lightning, Thor has also wielded two mighty weapons forged in the heart of a dying star. Both grant Thor even more power, and only those worthy enough can wield the hammers. With Thor’s powerful abilities and mighty weapons, Superman is toast.
Scarlet Witch
As the most powerful being in the universe, Scarlet Witch has gone toe-to-toe with the likes of Thanos and Doctor Strange, and has lived to tell the tale. Using the universe’s Darkest Magic, Scarlet Witch is capable of flight, manipulation, telekinesis, telepathy, transmutation, life creation, and the ability to travel the multiverse. If anybody from the MCU could defeat Superman, it’s Scarlet Witch. After defeating five members of the Illuminati, consisting of Professor X, Captain Marvel, Captain Carter, Mr. Fantastic, and Black Bolt, we don’t want to imagine what Scarlet Witch could do to Superman.
