Earlier this week, an excerpt from Pamela Anderson’s new book detailed an incident where Tim Allen allegedly flashed Anderson on the set of Home Improvement. Early in her screen career, Anderson played the role of Lisa on the show’s first two seasons before leaving to focus on her iconic Baywatch role. According to the excerpt obtained by Variety, the incident took place in 1991 when Anderson was only 23 and Tim Allen was in his late 30s. The incident is one of many shocking revelations made by Anderson.

Despite being new to the screen, Anderson was well known at the time for her modeling career, particularly her spreads in Playboy. According to Anderson, the incident was a sort of get “even” stunt for Allen, who had presumably seen her naked in the magazine. Anderson recalls in her memoir:

When the accusation surfaced, Variety reached out to Allen for a statement. The comedian, beloved for his roles in The Santa Clauses, completely denied the incident ever happening, saying, “No, it never happened. I would never do such a thing.” Immediately following, Anderson doubled down on her claim while talking to Vanity Fair, saying, “This true story is just one of many surreal and uncomfortable situations I learned to navigate.”

After reiterating that the story was “true,” Anderson went on to tell Vanity Fair that she has no “ill will” towards Allen but that the incident “should never have happened.” Following the allegations, Anderson received an abundance of online support, with fans supporting the Baywatch star for speaking out.

However, it appears Anderson wanted to make it crystal clear that she did not reveal this story as an attack on Allen. Anderson followed up on the incident as part of her cover story with Variety, who first reported on the allegations. Defending Allen in a text message to the Variety writer, she writes:

Pamela Anderson’s written memoir is set to release on Jan. 31 along with the Baywatch bombshell’s biographical documentary, Pamela, a love story. The book and documentary come after a wave of drama surrounding Hulu’s Pam and Tommy, where Anderson asked for a public apology from the show creators. Regarding her upcoming memoir and documentary, Anderson claims she is “taking control of the narrative.”
