The White Lotus could very well be one of the most fascinating series currently available for streaming. Set at a chain of fictional resorts that are located at various picturesque locations around the world, it examines the complex interpersonal relationships between both wealthy guests and resort staff members. It reveals dark, universal truths that are generally left unsaid on television while simultaneously providing audiences with a lot of laughs at the expense of the flawed character’s interactions.
Season one of the series explored the lives of those at the White Lotus Hawaii. Season two is set at the resort’s Sicily location. Much like the first installment, season two opened with the revelation that the drama to come would go far beyond just simple misunderstandings and betrayal. Though there are only a few episodes left in this season, there are a lot of loose ends left to wrap up. The final episodes promise to be incredibly dramatic and potentially tragic.

Here are a few theories about what could happen in the rest of White Lotus season two.
Revelations About Cameron’s Financial Status
HBO
Season two introduced audiences to Cameron, a stereotypical finance bro. It’s established early on that Cameron is quite wealthy, which is somewhat obvious, given the type of folk who make up the resort’s clientele. However, a handful of events have seemed to suggest that his status could be something of an illusion.

Cameron’s college friend, Ethan, recently made it big in the tech world and is in the process of selling the company he founded for a handsome sum. Cameron expresses annoyance at Ethan selling the company without involving him, even making overtures at the fact that he could have helped Ethan use insider trading to make some extra cash on the side. It’s possible that Cameron wants to exploit Ethan in some way, which would explain why Cameron keeps putting the two of them in compromising situations.
Additionally, when Cameron hires a pair of sex workers while his wife is several hours away, he is unable to fully pay them, which makes audiences think that he may not be as wealthy as he acts.
Tanya Gets Scammed Out of Her Fortune
HBO
One of the only characters who returned from season one of the series was Tanya, portrayed by Jennifer Coolidge. She is a wealthy heiress who is simultaneously naive and world-weary.
A few episodes back, Tanya met a man named Quentin, whose family owns an estate in the Sicilian city of Palermo. He immediately takes a liking to Tanya and invites her to Palermo for a series of outings that are both lavish and debaucherous. However, the truth about Tanya’s new friends may be a lot darker than she currently understands.

The end of episode five ended with a shocking twist that calls into question just how honest Quentin is. It was recently revealed that he has squandered the vast bulk of his family’s fortune and, at one point, considered selling the family estate. It’s possible that he’s only befriended Tanya in the hopes of getting his hands on her money. Tanya had better watch her pocketbook carefully in upcoming episodes.
Whose Body Washed Up on the Beach?
At the beginning of White Lotus season two, several dead bodies are discovered washed up near the shore of the Sicilian resort. No one has been killed yet, but audiences know that there will likely be a few fatalities before the season has come to a conclusion.
Immediately, audiences’ minds go to Lucia, a sex worker who has had several run-ins with her aggressive former procurer. However, it’s possible that it will be revealed that Lucia is actually working in tandem with the man in an attempt to scam money out of the innocent Albie. The introduction of the criminals in Paloma might provide audiences with the biggest hint at who may have wound up dead in the surf.
Though the first season of White Lotus consisted of only six episodes, this new installment will have nine, so there’s plenty more of this entertaining season left to enjoy. If the remaining handful of episodes isn’t enough to whet your whistle for the woes of the wealthy and the working class, the series will be returning to a third season, though we’ll likely have to wait a while before it comes out.
However, the myriad of inevitable revelations that will play out during the rest of season two will certainly quench our thirst for the dramatic. Even if none of the main characters are killed in the course of the show, many relationships are sure to die, and along with them, our collective illusions regarding the norms of civil society.
