Senior Detective Terry Seattle is back to determine the culprit behind the killing of St. Nick in the new holiday special Who Killed Santa? A Murderville Murder Mystery. Featuring Arnett reprising the role he played in the Netflix series Murderville, the special also brings in celebrity guest stars Jason Bateman (Ozark) and Maya Rudolph (Disenchanted). The special is now streaming on Netflix, and to get a sneak peek, you can watch the trailer below.

Along with Arnett, Bateman, and Rudolph, the special also features Eliza Coupe, Kurt Braunohler, Haneefah Wood, Lilan Bowden, Dennice Cisneros, Tawny Newsome, and Courtney Parchman.

Will Murderville Get a Second Season?

     Netflix

Season 1, consisting of six episodes, premiered in February of this year. It featured guest stars Conan O’Brien, Marshawn Lynch, Kumail Nanjiani, Annie Murphy, Sharon Stone, and Ken Jeong. There’s been no word at this time of Murderville getting a second season, though it hasn’t been outright canceled either. Showrunner Krister Johnson has some celebrities in mind for guest stars if the show does get renewed.

“As a fan of the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl’s comedy chops, I think he would enjoy this show. I think that would be really fun,” Johnson told Consequence earlier this year.

On who else could join the show, Johnson added, “There are literally a hundred people I could name who would be amazing to work with and who I think would have fun with it. The danger is actually thinking that there’s that one person who would just make it so good, because you might be wrong or you might change how you approach it, to give them what they need to be good. And then suddenly you’re not putting them in the kind of scenarios that that person needs to be in.”

Murderville is based off the BAFTA award winning BBC3 series Murder in Successville by Tiger Aspect Productions and Shiny Button Productions. The new special is executive produced by Will Arnett, Marc Forman, Jonathan Stern, Peter Principato, and Brian Steinberg. Krister Johnson serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. Laura Murphy directed and writers also included Owen Burke, Marina Cockenberg, and Kerry O’Neill.
