The TV and movie business is one of the most fickle industries in the world, with no clear blueprint or schematic on how to create the perfect film/show. That being said, there are a few studios that have seemingly mastered how to tell a good story and will always have loyal fans to fill their theater seats. One such studio is Pixar. The animated production company that has brought cinematic joy to audiences for several decades has created blockbusters and classics with franchises such as Toy Story, The Incredibles, Cars, and many more.

Over the past few years, Pixar has stepped away from making sequels of their older original projects. It has branched back out into telling unique standalone tales that are just as good (if not better) at captivating audiences. Thanks to this new initiative, Pixar’s recent films have included remarkably diverse cast and stories that represent the entire world as a whole, uniting fans from all different cultures and backgrounds to embrace the magic of cinematic animation. The studio’s most recent hit, Encanto, has become one of Pixar’s most successful projects to date and includes a plethora of colorful characters that everybody and anybody can relate to. And one particular Encanto character who deserves his own spin-off series on Disney+ is the infamous Tio Bruno.

We Didn’t Get Enough Bruno

The first reason why audiences need a Bruno spin-off series is simple – we didn’t get enough of him in the movie! The hit song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” has become a worldwide phenomenon and one of Pixar’s most successful songs of all time. Yet, the song itself almost had more screen-time than Bruno. The character not getting the spotlight makes sense seeing as how the story was actually about Mirabel (voiced by Stephanie Beatriz). Still, given how crucial Bruno was to not just the story but also the family, it seems a tad criminal that audiences got to see so little of him. Not to mention, Bruno is voiced by the highly talented and hilarious John Leguizamo, and fans would have no problem watching his comedic side in a spin-off series.

Bruno Could Be a Prequel Series

As fans of the film are aware, Bruno was ostracized by not just his family but also the members of the town who were less than happy with Bruno’s visions. Because of this, Bruno went into hiding in order to keep his visions from harming anybody, and he remained that way until Mirabel found him and persuaded him to come back to the family. So, what was Bruno doing during all of that time in exile? Audiences know that he was actually spending all of his time inside the walls of the magical house and hanging out with rats in the process, but audiences also know that he was still secretly keeping an eye on his family the whole time.

It’s revealed that ten years passed between Mirabel’s ceremony and the events of the movie, so Bruno spent an entire decade inside the walls – completely by himself with nobody to talk to except for rats. Even if Disney+ decides not to do a spin-off, there’s no doubt that a series revolving around that premise would be hysterical. Another less likely possibility for a prequel series would be a show revolving around Bruno and his sisters when they were kids. There’s no question that Abuela (voiced by María Cecilia Botero) favored her daughters over her son so a series highlighting their relationships growing up could be a real emotional tear-jerker.

See More of The Family and The Town

As stated, Encanto has quickly become one of Pixar’s biggest hits. Audiences have made it clear how much they love the animated musical set in Colombia and centered around a massive magical family. The ensemble itself is one of Pixar’s largest, with the Madrigal Family housing 12 total members, not to mention all the town’s people. So, with how much love the movie has gotten from moviegoers, it’s only natural to assume that fans would love to revisit the Madrigals in the form of a television series, especially if it were to shift focus to a different member of the family).

Not only that, but a series revolving around Bruno has the most potential for including the rest of the people in the town. It could be a prequel series where we see Bruno’s past visions and how they hurt (or occasionally helped) the people of the town, or it could be a sequel series where Bruno has returned from hiding and tries to make amends to all the people he had visions about in the past. Whether or not Pixar abides and actually creates a Bruno spin-off, it’s conclusive to say that audiences would love it if they hadn’t seen the last of Tio Bruno and the Magical Madrigals.
